DEAR HORSE OWNER...

IS YOUR MARE PINNY EARED, UNFOCUSED, AND MOODY DURING HER CYCLES?

When training, yelling and getting frustrated is no longer working, your horse may be in pain with hormonal discomfort such as muscle tension and cramping. Agitation and cranky behavior may be caused by symptoms of her natural cycles.

WE UNDERSTAND!

your not alone

Lots of horse owners admit having these problems with their mares. It's no fun to worry about riding a mare that is unfocused and nasty.

The Estrous Cycle

Mares typically cycle regularly between April and early September. A mare’s cycle is shorter than a woman’s. The average length is three weeks, with most falling within the range of 18- to 23-day cycles. The mare will be in season (“show heat”) for an average of five days during each cycle, with a range of three to seven or eight days. Many people complain that their mare is in season every two weeks and think that’s abnormal, but it’s not. The normal cycle is for the mare to be in season for the better part of a week, followed by two weeks out, then another week or so in.

I have a 14 year old TB mare who has been in a breeding program in the past and had three foals. When she comes into season, she will tease to anything that breathes, and has even peed at/on me several times. She will strike and squeal almost unpredictably, and is not herself. She also began scalding her legs because she was urinating for mares and geldings in her paddock.

After starting raspberry mare, I have not been able to tell when she is in heat, unless I watch her interact with her “boyfriend” out in the paddock. Even then, she isn’t running up to him and throwing her tush in his face like she used to. She just greets him, pees, and then gets on with life.

I cannot thank you enough for producing a product that is safe and effective for my mare. Not a lot of products like this include peppermint leaf, which I think is great.

EDIT: I am about to be on my third bag and it still works as good as ever ! If you are having second thoughts, DONT! My mare lives in a herd with four other horses (two geldings two mares) and even though she is out of season (it being winter) I have no desire to stop the product because of the relaxing effects. This is my holy grail !!

this is willow....

“When I first bought Willow as a 4 yr old, it took some time to bond with her, I was as they say “an inexperienced rider trying to train a 4 yr old green horse”. Yep I took that on! When she matured enough to come into her estrus cycles, during that time I noticed pinning ears, and agitated behavior which scared me a little, but.. I was determined to keep training her and could not allow myself to let on that I was the slightest bit intimidated by her or she would use that as a tool for our future relationship.

After giving her the raspberry leaf, I noticed a huge change in her attitude. She was calm, responsive and her focus was back on me. I was so grateful that even on her cycles I was no longer afraid to work with her. “
